It is the signature residence of\u00a0Wonderland Escapes<\/strong>\u00a0nad it\u2019s 50 km away from the city of Cape Town. Le Grand Jardin was a wedding gift for the daughter of the neighbouring estate and was designed by a student of\u00a0Sir Herbert Baker<\/strong>\u2013 the most\u00a0notable architect<\/strong>\u00a0working in South Africa in the 1900s.<\/p>\n

The walls of the double-volume entrance hall, covered in De Gournay\u00a0\u2018Amazonia\u2019 wallpaper<\/strong>, act as an exuberant welcome and\u00a0invitation to enjoy the garden<\/strong>\u00a0that offers an\u00a0intimate private world of escape<\/strong>. Artistry exists in the interplay of\u00a0timeless heirlooms<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0sensual textures<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of copper, leather, and velvet, set against the playful use of colour and craft.<\/p>\n
